HOMES 4 WILTSHIRE WEBSITE IMPROVEMENTS!

Homes 4 Wiltshire has recently made changes to its website and this will now provide you with more control over your application.

When you are logged into your account, you will see a new summary screen and from this you will now be able to:

  • update your application online instead of completing a new application form (an officer from the Homes 4 Wiltshire team will check the changes before activating)
  • review your details
  • view the bidding history
  • receive messages from the Homes 4 Wiltshire team
  • close/cancel your application
  • renew your application online
  • chose the memorable date that you login with

There has also been a change to the Recent Lets section on the website. Previously the information shown provided the details of the applicant who had finished top of a property shortlist and therefore not necessarily the applicant who was successful. You will now be able to look through all of the recently let properties that have been advertised and you will be shown the band, effective date and bedroom need of the successful applicant who was housed in a property.

Please note that the information on this website will only be updated once the successful applicant has been housed. Therefore there will be a period of time between when a property has been advertised and when it will show on Recent Lets. If you are looking for a particular property and it is not showing as a recent let, this will mean that the property is either still waiting to be allocated or has not yet been updated by the Landlord.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact Homes 4 Wiltshire on 01380 734 734.

AFFORDABLE RENT

You may be aware that there are national changes being made to the way in which housing is allocated and you will now notice changes to the way in which properties are advertised through Homes 4 Wiltshire. The government will be making more information available to us about the new changes and we will pass this on to you as quickly as possible. For the latest information please check the Affordable Rent section on this website.

NEW BUILD HOUSES FOR SALE AT QUAKERS WALK, DEVIZES

Wiltshire Council is working in partnership with Taylor Wimpey to provide 30 new homes for sale at discounted prices at Quakers Walk in Devizes.  The discount sale units are a mix of mainly 1 and 2 bedroom homes, with one 3 bedroom house also becoming available in late 2012.

We would like to invite interested applicants to apply through Homes 4 Wiltshire. These properties are being sold with a 15% discount of open market value and you must be able to raise a mortgage of the relevant amount.

In order to qualify for purchasing one of these homes you will need to:

  • Be registered on the council’s housing register (Homes4Wiltshire)

  • Have a local connection to Wiltshire

  • Be able to raise the relevant mortgage and have any necessary deposit available

If you are interested in applying for one of these properties please contact Taylor Wimpey direct on 0845 072 6116 to enquire what Plots are still available and then you will need to register with Homes 4 Wiltshire.

REFUSALS BY APPLICANTS

Please always remember - where an applicant refuses an offer of a property for which they have placed a bid, Homes 4 Wiltshire will consider whether or not the refusal is reasonable.

If the refusal is considered unreasonable, the applicant will be advised in writing of this, and given the opportunity to appeal against this decision.

If an applicant unreasonably refuses 3 properties for which they have bid, their application will be placed in the bronze band for a period of 6 months.

Applicants will be advised of the potential consequences of refusing properties after each unreasonable refusal.

This sanction will not apply to applicants for whom the autobid function is used, as they have not specifically bid for the properties in question.

Please note that we will notify in writing all applicants who refuse a property to warn them of this Policy change.
